Sirco has expanded the portable sampler portion of their line with the addition of two new concept designs.
The PVS 4120 is rugged but light weight version of the 4100, which has been part of the line-up for years. The 4120 weighs only 23 pounds. The battery will retrieve 85 samples on a single charge but only weighs 4 pounds. The vacuum pump can retrieve samples at over 4.5 ft/sec for horizontal draws of up to 25 ft which maintains the vacuum sampler advantage of being able to grab more representative samples, including solids which fallout at low transport velocities. There is capacity for ice to chill the samples.
The PVS 4150 weighs 39.5 pounds and also has battery capacity for 85 samples. The carrying case has 4 handles plus wheels and a telescoping luggage handle. It can be used for composite sampling only.
The PVS 4100 weighs 41 pounds and can be used for both composite and discrete sampling (as can the PVS 4120) for up to 168 samples on a single charge.
All three models are very cost competitive utilizing common components used on the other samplers except the battery and the pump on the 4120 and 4150 are smaller.
- The totalizer works even if the DFM 5.0 is calibrated in velocity mode
- Data logging units are independent of calibration units
- Changing measurement units in the DFM 5.0 does not require a restart of the data logger
- Twenty-four hour flow reports are created independent of regular logging
- The DFM 5.0 will provide a flow reading as long as there is 1 bubble or
particle every ten seconds; if the concentration falls below that level,
the instrument reads zero
- The firmware has been configured to disregard non-flow related inputs (such as pipe vibration)
- A new sensor configuration has been created to enhance the ability of the instrument to read flow in difficult applications
